You can create prototype records from several places in Aha! software, depending what Aha! product you start from.
You can also create prototypes that are embedded in a record, such as a feature or initiative. These are not standalone records, but otherwise function just like other prototypes.
From a chat with Elle
Open a chat with Elle, and prompt it to generate a prototype. You can describe a concept from scratch, reference an existing record for context, or use a suggestion from the AI prompt library — such as the feature prototype or prototype for a popular idea prompts.
Once Elle generates a prototype, you will see options to save it as a record:
Click Save to this workspace/team to create a standalone prototype record in your workspace or team document hierarchy.
Click Link to [record ID] to create the prototype record and link it to the record included in your chat. The prototype will appear on the record’s Research tab under Concepts.
From the Prototypes page
The Prototypes page is available in navigation by default. The path varies by product:
Product |
Navigation path |
|---|---|
Aha! Roadmaps |
Knowledge -> Prototypes |
Aha! Ideas |
Research -> Prototypes |
Aha! Develop |

Click Create prototype to start a new prototype with Elle.
From the Documents page
Navigate to Knowledge -> Documents and click Add -> Prototype.
From a record's Research tab
Open any record (such as a feature or initiative), navigate to the Research tab, and click Add in the Concepts section. Select Prototype to create a new prototype linked to that record.
Prototypes created from a record are automatically linked to that record. Standalone prototypes can be linked later through the prototype’s Related tab or the More options menu.
