You gain valuable insights from every customer conversation, but piecing together the bigger picture is not always simple. Some interview insights surface immediately. Others require careful analysis. When you multiply this by dozens of interviews, recognizing overarching patterns becomes a challenge. The real opportunity lies in connecting the dots to discover new possibilities for product improvement.

Use Elle in Aha! Discovery to analyze a single interview, review a full study, or work from a research file. Then, continue the workflow by creating highlights and linking them to the records that the evidence should inform.

Analyze an interview or study
Use Elle to analyze an interview, study, or research file from anywhere in your Aha! account.
To analyze an interview, you must have a transcript uploaded. Elle does not access or analyze uploaded video.
-
Click the Elle icon in the upper right of your screen to open Elle.
If you open Elle from an interview, study, or file, its record ID will populate in the prompt field. This tells Elle which research to analyze.
Enter a prompt that explains what you want to learn from the research. Include the specific record IDs when needed.
Press Enter to start the analysis.
Answer any follow-up questions Elle asks so it can refine the output.
When the analysis is ready, review it in Elle's side panel. From there, you can save the analysis or continue with follow-up work.
Turn analysis into highlights and links
Analysis is often the starting point. Once Elle surfaces the patterns that matter, you can keep moving and turn those findings into usable evidence for product decisions.
Use this workflow when you want to move from analysis to action without losing the context behind the decision:
Ask Elle to create highlights from the interview or research file based on the themes, quotes, or problems you want to capture.
Review the proposed highlights and save the ones you want to keep.
Ask Elle to suggest records to link to those highlights. Elle can propose ideas, features, requirements, epics, initiatives, and goals.
Review the suggested links before saving them. One highlight can link to multiple records when the same customer evidence supports more than one piece of work.
If you want detailed instructions for creating highlights and linking them to records, see Capture interview highlights.
Save the AI analysis
After Elle has provided an analysis, you may want to save it to reference it later. You have several options for saving an AI analysis.
Insert the AI analysis in an insights report
The option to insert the analysis into an insights report will only appear if you are viewing an interview transcript or an insights report. Once you add the AI analysis to an insights report, anyone with access will be able to view it.
The analysis will open in a separate window. Click Insert and select an option to save the analysis to the insights report:
Add to Summary: This option will add the analysis to the Summary field of the interview or study's insights report.
Add to Details: This option will add the analysis to the Details section of the interview or study's insights report (below the Learnings and Quotes section).
Add as new insight: This option will add the analysis to the bottom of the interview or study's insights report.
Copy the AI analysis
You can copy an AI analysis and paste it into any record or note in your account:
In Elle's side panel, find the completed analysis and click Show.
Click the copy icon in the upper right. This will copy the analysis. Then right-click or press Ctrl+V to paste the analysis into a document or Aha! record.
Click the link icon to navigate to the saved analysis. From here, you can select and copy it.
