Integrate with Slack

Aha! Develop

Aha! Develop powers your project development and delivery, so your progress can inform every conversation you have about managing and prioritizing cross-functional work. Most of those conversations happen directly in Aha! Develop, but many teams also rely on Slack for real-time collaboration across the company.

This update is available for teams that use Aha! Teamwork or Aha! Develop with Aha! Roadmaps. (You will first need to install the Slack to Aha! integration in your Aha! Roadmaps Account settings.)

Slack conversations are quick and immediate, but to be useful, they need context. When inspiration strikes in the middle of a Slack thread, it helps to be able to create work items from Slack without copying everything over to Aha! Develop.

Aha! Develop offers two separate one-way integrations with Slack. You can enable either one — or both — depending on your needs:

  • Create an Aha! Develop activity stream in Slack to funnel your delivery updates into one Slack channel.

  • Create Aha! Develop records directly from Slack with Slack slash commands.

In this article, we will cover the prerequisites and a brief overview of each integration.

Send activity to Slack

Automatically send your Aha! Develop activity from Aha! Develop to the Slack channel(s) of your choice. In Slack, your team will now see the same information that you see in your own activity stream in Aha! Develop, including integration activity.

By customizing which strategy, release, idea and feature updates you stream to Slack, everyone in the channel can focus on what matters most. Example streams could include tracking product launches on releases, or tracking team comments on key features and initiatives.

Create and comment on Aha! Develop records from Slack

You can create records in Aha! Develop directly from Slack. Users will be able to create and comment on records in Aha! Develop for the teams in which they have contributor or team owner permissions.

Add records from anywhere, or add comments to existing records. Seamlessly transition from a message about a new feature to instantly adding it to Aha! Develop within the same conversation.

With this integration enabled, any Aha! Develop user can also configure a Slack channel to receive focused, automatic updates on specific Aha! records.

You are free to customize your notifications. For example, choose to be notified when teammates comment, a record's status changes, or colleagues assign a new to-do.
