Personal profile for Elle

Elle, the AI assistant, works across your entire account, but by default it does not know your role or preferences. Your Elle profile is a short, personal description of who you are and how you work. Elle applies it automatically to every chat, across all of your Aha! workspaces and teams, so you spend less time re-explaining yourself and get more relevant results.

Your personal profile for Elle pairs very well with personal memory.

Overview

Your Elle profile gives Elle a standing description of who you are, so its help is more relevant from the first message of every chat. A few principles shape how it works:

  • Your profile applies everywhere. Once you save it, Elle uses your profile as background context in every chat across every Aha! product, without you repeating the same details each time.

  • Your profile is personal. It applies only to your user and is visible only to you. No one else in your Aha! account can see it.

  • You are in control. You write your profile yourself and can update or clear it at any time. Elle does not change it on its own.

Elle uses your profile alongside the other context available to it — your account's default AI instructions, any AI prompts you select in a chat, and your personal memory when that feature is enabled. Your profile is the standing description of who you are and how you work. Personal memory is the record of context Elle saves from your chats over time. The two work together, and many people use both.

Like other AI features, Elle runs on AI credits.

Set up your Elle profile

Your Elle profile lives in your personal settings, so you can update it whenever your work changes.

  • Navigate to User menu -> Settings -> Personal -> Profile.

  • Find the Your Elle profile section, below Change password.

  • In the text editor, describe who you are and how you work.

    • For example, note the team you lead, the workspaces you own, the records you rely on, and any formatting you prefer when Elle drafts for you.

  • Your profile saves automatically as you type. There is no separate save step.

  • Update your profile whenever your role or preferences change. The new context applies to your future chats.

If your account administrators have disabled Elle in User menu -> Settings -> Account -> AI controls, the Your Elle profile section does not appear.

What to include

Elle uses your profile as background for every chat, so the most helpful profile is durable, specific, and worth repeating. Focus on context that stays true over time and shapes the work you do most.

Good things to include:

  • Your role and scope: The team you lead, the products or workspaces you own, and the stakeholders you work with.

  • How you like to work: Recurring workflows, the cadence of your planning, and the records you rely on.

  • Output preferences: Formats, structures, or a style guide you want Elle to follow when it drafts for you.

  • Standing corrections: Terminology, naming conventions, or assumptions you find yourself correcting again and again.

Keep your profile sharp with a few habits:

  • Be concise and specific. Short, clear statements give Elle better signal than long background paragraphs.

  • Favor the durable over the disposable. Describe context you will reuse, not details specific to a single task or chat.

  • Leave out sensitive information. Do not include anything you would not want kept in a personal note.

  • Revisit it periodically. Open your profile now and then to remove anything that has gone stale and add new context as your work changes.
