It is harder to evaluate options when your analysis lives in one tool and your plans live in another. Spreadsheets in Aha! bring that work together — so you can calculate totals, compare scenarios, and organize data where product decisions happen. Add a spreadsheet directly to notes and records and use formulas and formatting without leaving your workflow.
Overview
A spreadsheet is a content block you can insert into notes and Aha! record descriptions. You can use a spreadsheet to compare options, model costs, track values over time, or work through calculations without switching tools. This is a practical way to keep analysis next to the plans, notes, and decisions it supports.
Unlike a standard table, a spreadsheet supports formulas, dates, cell formatting, and column resizing. That means you can do more than organize information. You can review trade-offs, update assumptions, and keep the context with the rest of your documentation.
Anyone with access to the record will see the spreadsheet inline when they open it. People with editing access can update it. Reviewers and viewers can see the spreadsheet, but they cannot make changes.
Spreadsheets only contain the data you enter into them. They do not pull in live data from records in your account.
Add a spreadsheet
You can add a spreadsheet to any note or record description from the text editor toolbar:
Place your cursor where you want to insert a spreadsheet.
Click the + icon in the editor.
Select Spreadsheet.
You can also type /spreadsheet and select it from the slash command menu.
The spreadsheet appears inline where you place your cursor, ready for you to start entering data.
You cannot import existing CSV files into a spreadsheet. Enter data directly in the spreadsheet instead.
Work in a spreadsheet
Click any cell to start entering data. You can add text, numbers, dates, and formulas (such as =SUM(A1:A10)).
As you work, you can:
Add or remove rows and columns from the row or column header menu.
Resize columns by dragging the edge of a column header.
Format cells with bold text, font color, background color, and text alignment.
Move between cells with arrow keys and Tab.
Open the spreadsheet in full screen when you want more space to review your work or make updates.
Changes to spreadsheets save automatically with the record or document.
You cannot export a spreadsheet as a CSV file. If you export a record or note to PDF or PowerPoint, the spreadsheet appears as a static table.
