All new presentations are created in the new presentations experience automatically. If you have existing presentations that were created before the new experience launched on February 19, 2026, you can convert them to take advantage of the new slide editor, speaker notes, Elle, live fields, real-time collaboration, and other new capabilities.
Legacy presentations are not converted automatically. You choose when to convert each one.

Convert a presentation
Open a legacy presentation.
Click Convert to new experience.
A warning modal appears:
Are you sure you want to convert this to the new presentations experience? This cannot be undone. We will do our best to match the formatting of your legacy presentation. After converting, please review your presentation and adjust any formatting as needed.
Confirm to proceed. The presentation opens in the new slide editor.
Conversion cannot be undone. If you want to preserve the original, duplicate the presentation before converting.
What transfers during conversion
The conversion process carries over:
All slides and their content — text, shapes, images, and Aha! views.
Collaborators and to-dos.
Shared webpage URL and sharing settings (password, enhanced security).
The shared webpage URL does not change. The existing link automatically serves the converted presentation with all sharing settings intact.
What to review after conversion
The new experience does its best to match the formatting of your legacy presentation, but some elements may need manual adjustment. After converting, review your slides for:
Background colors and text colors: Some background, header, and text colors may not carry over exactly.
Text formatting: Text size, color, or font weight may differ from the original.
Aha! views: Large embedded views may appear differently. If a view looks zoomed in or cut off, resize the view on the slide.
Theme styling: Your legacy theme is not automatically migrated to the new workspace-based presentation themes system. But a converted version of your theme will exist in the Themes menu of your presentation. If you want other people to have access to your presentation theme, a workspace owner will need to click Move to workspace to place it in workspace settings, where it can be managed and used. Otherwise, you can apply a new theme or recreate your branding in User menu -> Settings -> Workspace -> Presentation themes.
Shared webpage behavior after conversion
If your legacy presentation had a published shared webpage, the existing URL will automatically serve the converted version. All sharing settings — password and enhance security settings — remain intact. Viewers do not need a new link.
Legacy deprecation plan
All new presentations are created in the new experience. Legacy presentations will continue to work but will be deprecated at a future date. An in-app banner on legacy presentations links to more information about the transition plan.
