Filtering with Elle, the AI assistant, gives you a faster, more precise way to build filters. Describe what you want to see in plain language, and Elle turns your request into a structured filter.

Overview
Elle helps you build complex filters without recalling every field name or condition. Type what you are looking for in plain language, and Elle creates a structured filter from your criteria. Elle works alongside the existing filter builder, so you keep full control over the filters you create.
Elle is available anywhere AI-powered filters appear on saved views, including reports and dashboards. You can use Elle to filter views such as:
List reports
Pivot tables
Charts
Dashboards
Roadmap views
Elle does not appear when you first create a report. To use Elle to refine filters, save the report first.
Enable filtering with Elle
Elle is enabled for filters by default. Account administrators configure this in AI settings.
Navigate to User menu -> Settings -> Account -> AI controls.
In the AI controls section, find Enable AI in filters (All products).
Use the checkbox to enable or disable AI filters for your account.
Click Update AI security to save your changes.
When AI filters are disabled, Elle's suggestions no longer appear when users add or edit filters on reports and dashboards. Your account data is not used to train the AI model.
Create a filter with Elle

Open a saved report or dashboard that supports filters.
Elle is available when you view the report or dashboard, not in the new report setup modal.
Click Add filter or open the filter builder, then select Ask Elle.

In the filter search field, describe what you want to see in plain language. For example:
"Features assigned to me this month"
"Ideas from customers in healthcare with more than 10 votes"
"Epics in the current release that are still in progress"

Click Add to ask Elle to create filters from your request.
While the filters generate, you see a loading state. Click Stop to cancel and keep your existing filters unchanged.
When Elle finishes, it adds structured filters to your view and confirms what changed, such as "AI added 3 filters." You can edit or remove these filters like any others.
If Elle cannot create filters from your description, you see an inline message. Refine your request and try again, or switch back to the standard filter picker for that view.
Best practices
Elle works best when your request is clear and specific.

State the record type when it matters.
For example: "Features in progress this quarter" instead of "Things in progress now."

Include time frames.
For example: "This month," "Last quarter," or "Next 30 days."

Add context about owners or teams.
For example: "Assigned to me" or "Owned by the platform team."

Call out key thresholds.
For example: "Ideas with more than 20 votes" or "Releases after March 31."
Review filters
Elle maps your request to the fields available in your report or dashboard view. In most cases the filters match your intent, but review what Elle added before you rely on the results.
Confirm that Elle filtered on the fields you expected, especially custom fields or scores.
Check filters that control scope, like workspace or tag filters, to make sure they match your intent.
Adjust any filter values that are missing or too broad.
If Elle struggles with a specific field name or concept, try:
Rephrasing your request with the exact field name from the filter picker.
Narrowing the request to fewer criteria.
Falling back to the standard filter builder for that part of the query.
