Create and manage dependencies

Aha! Teamwork

Tracking relationships between work items is critical to successful project management. Regardless of your team's size or project's complexity, you will come across portions of work that depend on one another. It can be very useful to create links between those records. These links create a system for tracking and managing cross-functional dependencies, helping you improve coordination, mitigate risk, and deliver successful projects on time.

Create dependencies

You can create dependency links between the following record types in Aha! Teamwork:

  • Parking lots

  • Epics

  • Features/Activities

  • Requirements

  • Documents

After you create a dependency between two records, they will be linked. You can view their relationship on both records' Related tabs anywhere you can open those records in Aha! Teamwork.

To create a dependency, link a record:

  • Open the record and access its Related tab.

  • Click + Add next to Linked records.

  • In the Relates to dropdown, choose Depends on or Is a dependency of.

  • Select a record type from the dropdown and search for the record you want to link. Then, click Create link.

From whiteboards

If you are working with Aha! records on a whiteboard, you can create dependency links between two records without leaving your whiteboard.

  • Draw a line and connect its ends to the two records you want to link.
