Interview and file insights reports

Aha! Discovery

Create an insights report to distill key findings from a single source, such as an interview or imported customer research file. Pull in highlighted learnings and quotes directly from that source to keep important context and reduce the time you spend rereading raw notes. This focused view makes it easier to spot patterns, share clear summaries with stakeholders, and keep everyone aligned on what you learned. Over time, each report becomes a reliable record of customer insights that informs product decisions and keeps the original research connected to your roadmap.

Overview

Distill key takeaways from your customer research in a clean, easy-to-build report. Create an insights report for any interview or file, then share it with stakeholders and use it to inform your product strategy. Pull in highlighted learnings and quotes from an interview or extracted text from a file directly into its insights report. Add highlights that you capture manually or through the AI assistant.

After you have created an insights report, you can share it with your team via secure webpage or export as an image or PDF to store it outside your account.

Build an insights report

  • To build an interview insights report, open an interview or file's Details view and click Report.

  • Configure your report:

    • Summary: Summarize your research findings.

      • Note: You can add an optional attachment below the summary field. Files must be smaller than 300MB.

    • Clips: Click + to open a list of of Clips you captured from an interview.

      • Clips are not available in File insights reports.

    • Learnings: Click + to open a list of Learnings you highlighted manually or through the AI assistant in the linked interview or file. Select the learnings you want to add and click Add learnings.

    • Quotes: Click + to open a list of Quotes you highlighted manually or through the AI assistant in the linked interview or file. Select the quotes you want to add and click Add quotes.

      • You can remove participant names from quotes if you do not want them to display. Navigate to the the interview's Participants tab and click Hide participant names to remove them. When you do, names are replaced with participant numbers.

    • Details: Add extra context or details that are relevant to the research file or interview.

    • Links: Click + to add links to Aha! initiatives, features, epics, or ideas. This links your research directly to your strategic roadmap.

Your changes to an insights report will save automatically, so you can update it over time.

You can link any summary, learning, or quote in your insights report directly to an Aha! goal, initiative, feature, epic, or idea. Hover your mouse over the insight, then click the Aha! icon to add a Record link.

Export an insights report

Export an insights report as an image or PDF to store outside your account.

  • Click the Export icon in the upper right.

  • Use the toggle to Show participant names or Hide participant names according to your privacy preferences.

    • Hidden participant names are replaced with participant numbers.

  • Select PNG image or PDF file to save the static report to your computer.
