Aha! presentations are a fantastic tool for slide-based strategic presentations, but sometimes you need to work in Microsoft PowerPoint. There are two ways to get views and data out of Aha! Roadmaps and into your Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.
Click any of the following links to skip ahead:
Option 1: Embed an Aha! view
You can embed an Aha! view in PowerPoint so your slide always reflects the latest data. Share the view as a webpage in Aha! and use that URL to add it to your PowerPoint slide.
This option is best when you are building a new PowerPoint presentation or need views that update automatically.
To do this, in Aha! Roadmaps:
Create a view in Aha! Roadmaps.
Save your view.
Click Share, then Web, then Manage webpage.
Click the toggle to Enable share as webpage.
Click Copy link to copy the shared view webpage URL.
Optional: Click the toggle to Allow webpage viewers to drill in by clicking on a record.
Note: The other Sharing settings will not appear on the embedded view.
Next, in Microsoft Powerpoint:
Navigate to the Microsoft Marketplace and get the Aha! Roadmaps for PowerPoint add-in.
From a PowerPoint presentation, click the Home tab, then click the Add-ins icon at the far right.
Select Aha Roadmaps for PowerPoint.
Paste the shared webpage URL you created in Aha! Roadmaps. Click Insert.
-
From the view:
Click and drag any node to resize the view.
Check Scale to fit to size your Aha! view to the dimensions of the slide view.
Click Edit to return to the previous menu and paste in a different URL.
The data in your embedded Aha! views will refresh every 5 minutes.
Option 2: Export an Aha! presentation
If you need to share the latest version of a set of Aha! views in another presentation tool, add them to an Aha! presentation and export it as a PowerPoint (.ppt) file. The export includes a PNG of each view on its own slide and excludes any other Aha! content.
This option works best when you already built the presentation in Aha! Roadmaps and do not want to recreate it in PowerPoint.
To do this:
Open the Aha! presentation you created.
Click the Export icon, then Export Aha! view to .ppt.
From the Export views to PowerPoint modal, click Generate PowerPoint.
Click Download PowerPoint to download your file.
Note: If you have an existing file you have already exported, you can click Update during this step to update the views in your file with the latest version.
