Overview

Researchers can open Elle from an interview's Transcript view. Use it to analyze an interview transcript, surface the most important themes, and review AI-generated outputs directly alongside the research. Researchers need workspace contributor permissions to do this.

Elle works from text in an uploaded .VTT file. If you use the Zoom or Microsoft Teams integration, a .VTT file of your recorded meeting will upload soon after the meeting ends. You can also upload a .VTT file manually from your meeting service.

Open Elle, then choose the type of analysis you want to run. Elle adds the results directly to the interview so you can review them in context. This article covers the transcript analysis actions available from that menu.

Ask Elle for highlights and links

Transcript analysis is often the first step. After you review Elle's output, you can continue the workflow and turn the analysis into highlights and linked records.

  1. Run the transcript analysis that best fits your goal. For example, write a custom prompt asking Elle to look for highlights about a specific topic.

  2. Review the output and decide which findings you want to keep as structured highlights.

  3. Use Elle to create highlights from the interview or research file based on the themes, problems, or quotes you want to capture.

  4. Ask Elle to suggest records to link to those highlights, then review the suggestions before saving them.

  5. Link one highlight to multiple records when the same customer evidence supports more than one item on your roadmap.

For step-by-step guidance on creating highlights and linking them to records, see Capture interview highlights.
