July 10, 2026 Microsoft Entra ID authentication for the Azure DevOps integration

Release notes

Microsoft is phasing out support for personal access tokens (PATs) in Azure DevOps. To keep your Aha! Roadmaps integration with Azure DevOps connected as that change takes effect, we now support Microsoft Entra ID authentication as an alternative to PAT-based authentication.

Microsoft Entra ID authentication is now available. Keep reading for instructions on switching to this method, plus what to expect as we prepare for Microsoft's planned PAT changes in December 2026.

What is changing?

Microsoft is planning to remove support for PATs by December 2026. In response, your Aha! Roadmaps integration now supports Microsoft Entra ID authentication.

Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) is Microsoft's cloud-based identity and access management service. Authenticating with it lets you connect Aha! Roadmaps and Azure DevOps without relying on a PAT.

  • On step two, Configure account, click the Authentication method dropdown and select Microsoft Entra ID.

If you are not ready to move away from PAT authentication yet, you do not need to do anything. Your existing Azure DevOps integration will continue to work with PAT authentication for now.
