Overview
Elle performs tasks based on the prompts you provide. There are three prompt types:
Requests tell Elle what to do, such as summarizing feedback, drafting a message, or generating ideas. Use custom requests for tasks you run often and do not want to retype.
Instructions provide guidance on how to structure output, such as your style guide, workflows, or preferences. Use custom instructions to apply structure, tone, and quality standards.
Agents understand your goals and take action without detailed instructions each time. Use custom agents for repeatable multistep processes that do not require extensive review, such as triaging feedback or creating features from customer interviews.
You can also create skills, which give Elle reusable instructions it applies automatically when your request matches.
Elle includes default agents for core work such as answering questions, drafting requirements, generating prototypes, and building reports. You can combine custom requests, instructions, and agents — for example, pair a custom agent with instructions you prepared in advance.
Save your custom prompts in your workspace to share with the team, or in your personal settings for private use. Mark your most-used prompts as Favorites for quick access in Elle and in the AI prompt library.
Custom agents cannot modify text inline in the editor. Default agents can.

Best practices
Write clear, specific prompts: Vague instructions lead to inconsistent results.
Provide relevant context: Include the Aha! records, terminology, examples, and standards unique to your business.
Iterate and improve: Test your agents and instructions, then refine them based on results and team feedback.
Review and update: As your processes evolve, revisit your prompts so output stays aligned with your standards.
