Account profile settings

Aha! Builder

Configure account settings to keep your Aha! Builder account secure and up to date. Use these settings to manage your account profile, enable two-factor authentication, set up single sign-on, and review account activity.

Click any of the following links to skip ahead:

You need to be an account administrator to access and configure account settings.

Profile

Your account profile controls how your Aha! Builder account identifies itself to the people who use it. Navigate to User menu -> Settings -> Account -> Profile to configure your account profile.

Your account profile has two fields:

  • Name: The name of your organization (for example, "Fredwin Cycling"). You can change this at any time.

  • Custom domain: The domain name your team uses to access your account. You select this when you first sign up for Aha! Builder.

You can change your account's custom domain name, but consider a few things before you do:

  • You can change your domain name to anything that has not already been taken by another Aha! account. If the name you want is taken, reach out to our Customer Success team at https://www.aha.io/support/requests/new and we will see if we can help.

  • A domain name change affects any bookmarks and saved links to your Aha! Builder account. Anyone with saved links will need to update them.

To change your domain name:

  1. Navigate to User menu -> Settings -> Account -> Profile.

  2. Click Edit next to the Custom domain field.

  3. Type your new domain name.

  4. Click Update account profile.

Demo data

Explore a pre-built example application before you start building your own. Navigate to User menu -> Settings -> Account -> Profile and scroll to the Demo data section.

Aha! Builder includes one example application:

  • Price Book: A centralized application for managing SKUs, pricing, and margins across Fredwin Technology.

The example application is fully functional. You can preview it, modify it with Elle, and use it to explore how to build and configure applications in Aha! Builder. Click Add demo to add the example application to your account. It will appear on your Applications page alongside any applications you create.

When you no longer need the example application, delete it from the Applications page.

Security and single sign-on

Security settings control how your team authenticates when logging in to your Aha! Builder account. Navigate to User menu -> Settings -> Account -> Security and single sign-on to configure them.

Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication adds another level of protection to the login process. When a user first logs in, an integrated security platform sends a message to their phone asking them to confirm the login attempt. If the user did not initiate the login, they can deny the attempt and avoid a security breach.

Aha! Builder integrates with Duo Security for two-factor authentication. Duo offers several authentication techniques, simple configuration, and a free plan for small teams.

When enabled, two-factor authentication applies to all users in your Aha! Builder account.

To enable two-factor authentication:

  1. An account administrator must first sign up for a Duo account. There is no need to add your Aha! users to Duo manually — they will be added automatically the first time they log in to Aha! Builder after two-factor authentication is enabled.

  2. In Duo, navigate to Applications and select Protect an Application. Set the Type to Web SDK and Name your application "Aha! Builder" (or something similar).

  3. Use Duo's default settings and copy the Client ID, Client secret, and API hostname values.

  4. In Aha! Builder, navigate to User menu -> Settings -> Account -> Security and single sign-on -> Duo Security two-factor authentication.

  5. Check the Enable two-factor authentication checkbox.

  6. Enter the values you copied from Duo into the appropriate fields.

  7. Click Update authentication.

  8. Test the authentication using a different browser or device so you can change the settings if they are wrong. In your alternate session, try logging in — after entering your email address and password, you will be prompted to enroll for two-factor authentication.

If you replace your mobile device, you will need to reactivate your account for Duo's push notifications to work. If your Duo administrator has you set up to manage your own devices, you can do this yourself. Otherwise, contact your Duo account administrator to send an activation link to your new device.

Single sign-on

Single sign-on (SSO) lets your team log in to Aha! Builder using the identity provider your organization already uses. Navigate to User menu -> Settings -> Account -> Security and single sign-on -> Single sign-on to configure SSO.

Aha! Builder supports SAML 2.0 as well as direct integrations with common identity providers. Use the Identity provider dropdown to select yours, then follow the setup steps for that provider. For step-by-step configuration by provider, see the individual SSO articles.
