How it works

The AI assistant uses content on a whiteboard to generate and edit wireframes and other content. Users with Edit access to a whiteboard can enter a prompt explaining what they want the AI assistant to do. If the task is possible, the AI assistant will generate new content, make adjustments to existing content, or iterate on an image a user uploads.

Your data will not be used to train the AI model.

The whiteboard AI assistant is included in Aha! Whiteboards Advanced. Contact us to schedule a demo or start a trial.

Generate or edit whiteboard content

Anyone with edit access to a whiteboard (including guests) can use the AI assistant to generate or edit whiteboard content.

  • Click the wand icon on your whiteboard's toolbar to open the AI assistant.

  • Enter your prompt in the text field at the bottom of your screen. You can also click the More options menu to start with an example prompt.

  • (Optional) Click the + image icon next to the prompt field to generate a wireframe from an image. You can also access this option from the More options menu. Starting from an image can help produce more contextual wireframes that reflect your product's current appearance.

  • Click Go.

The AI assistant will generate or modify content on your whiteboard based on the prompt you submitted. Add another prompt to apply further changes. You can use the > and < icons to navigate to earlier prompts so you can reuse them.

If you have a lot of content on your whiteboard, you can select specific objects and ask the AI assistant to perform actions on just those selected objects.

Use cases

Leverage the AI assistant to do the hard work for you. There are many ways you can enhance wireframes, ideation sessions, and general organization on your whiteboard.

  • Create and iterate on wireframes: Ask the AI assistant to map out a user experience with wireframes. Upload a screenshot of your product's user interface to recreate an existing design.

  • Organize content: After a brainstorming session, prompt the AI assistant to sort or group sticky notes or shapes.

  • Summarize content: Use the AI assistant to summarize your whiteboard after a brainstorming session.

  • Perform bulk actions: Change formatting and customize whiteboard objects in bulk. For example, you can prompt the AI to sort stickies, arrange shapes in a grid, or update color, border, or size for multiple shapes at once.

Best practices

Remember that AI is imperfect and only as efficient as the information you provide it. For the best results, consider the following.

  • Include as much detail and context in your prompt as possible.

  • If the initial output is not quite what you want, give the AI assistant follow-up instructions. Let it iterate multiple times until you get the results you want.

  • If you are using wireframes, leverage the ability to upload an image of your user interface. This will help you fine-tune your wireframes and cater them more closely to your product.

  • Keep track of prompts you use and track which ones produce better outcomes. Then, you can share your experience with the rest of your team.
