Share documents between products

Research lives in many places. Product planning often happens in Aha! Roadmaps while research and learning happen in Aha! Discovery. Bring documents into Aha! Discovery so everyone working on customer research can access the same information in one place.

How it works

When a user creates a document in Aha! Discovery, a Discovery folder is created in the same Aha! Roadmaps workspace. This connects documents between the two products.

• Items added in Aha! Discovery (Studies -> Documents) appear in Aha! Roadmaps (Knowledge -> Documents) inside the Discovery folder.

  • All documents in Aha! Discovery sync to the Discovery folder in Aha! Roadmaps.

• Items added to the Discovery folder in Aha! Roadmaps (Knowledge -> Documents) appear in Aha! Discovery (Studies -> Documents).

  • Only documents in the Discovery folder sync to Aha! Discovery. Documents in other Aha! Roadmaps folders do not appear in Aha! Discovery.

Users need permission to create and view documents:

• Aha! Discovery contributors can create workspace documents in Aha! Discovery.

• Any Aha! Discovery user with workspace access can see documents in Aha! Discovery, even if they are surfaced in the workspace from Aha! Roadmaps.

• Aha! Roadmaps contributors can create and import documents to Aha! Roadmaps and drag and drop them into the Discovery folder.

• Any Aha! Roadmaps user with workspace access can see documents in the Discovery folder, even if someone adds them from Aha! Discovery.

Surface documents from Aha! Roadmaps in Aha! Discovery

To get started:

1. In Aha! Discovery, navigate to Studies -> Documents and add a document. This creates a Discovery folder in Aha! Roadmaps. If your Aha! Discovery workspace already contains documents, you can skip this step.

2. Open Aha! Roadmaps and navigate to Knowledge -> Documents.

3. Open the Discovery folder. It lists all documents from your Aha! Discovery workspace.

4. Drag and drop existing notes, whiteboards, folders, meetings, links, and files into the Discovery folder. This will make them visible in Aha! Discovery.

Documents in the Discovery folder will sync regardless of which product they are edited from.

Import documents from Microsoft Word, Confluence, or other places on the web into your Aha! Roadmaps workspace. (Try the Aha! Knowledge Chrome extension!) Then drag and drop them into the Discovery folder to surface them in your Aha! Discovery workspace.
