Elle, the AI assistant, runs on credits in Aha! Builder. Every chat interaction with Elle and every AI-powered action — from generating a new application to refining a page — uses credits from your Aha! account's shared pool. Billing administrators can monitor usage in account settings to see how the team is adopting AI as it becomes part of daily work.

Aha! Builder credits per plan
Every paid Aha! Builder account includes a monthly pool of AI credits. The total amount is determined at the account level based on your plan and the number of paid users on your account.
By default, Builder credits are pooled and available to all paid users on the account. The Builder credit pool is separate from credits allocated to other Aha! products on your account — if your account uses Aha! Builder alongside Aha! Roadmaps or another Aha! product, Aha! Builder work draws from the Aha! Builder pool and does not consume credits from the other pools.
Plan |
Credits per paid user per month |
|---|---|
Pro |
100 |
Team |
150 |
Scale |
200 |
Included credits refresh at the start of each billing period. If you run out before the end of the period, billing administrators on the Team or Scale plan can purchase more credits at any time.
The number of credits per plan is subject to change in the future.
Trial credits
Accounts on a free trial of Aha! Builder receive a one-time allotment of AI credits to evaluate the product:
50 credits for the user who starts the trial
10 credits for each of the next five users who log in during the trial
Trial credits are pooled at the account level and are separate from any credits allocated to other Aha! products. If you need more credits during your trial, your Customer Success representative can extend the trial and add credits.
Which actions use credits
The following actions deduct credits from your Builder pool:
Prompting Elle: Every chat interaction with Elle in Aha! Builder — whether a typed prompt, a voice prompt, or a request that starts from one of the starting points in the chat panel — uses credits. The amount depends on the size and complexity of the request.
Generating an application: Creating a new application from a prompt or example uses credits for each step of the generation process.
Iterating on an application: Every change Elle makes to code, design, data, or configuration uses credits.
If Elle experiences a technical error when providing a response, your account will not use credits for that message. Other successful messages in the same chat will still use credits as normal.
Approximate credit cost for common prompts
Each prompt is unique, so it is not possible to predict exact credit usage ahead of time. Long or detailed prompts, multiple files or images, or broad changes across an application will require more processing. The table below gives general guidelines.
Prompt type |
Example prompts |
Approximate credit usage |
|---|---|---|
Trivial design iteration |
|
One credit |
Minor design or content creation |
|
One to two credits |
Major design or content creation |
|
Three to six credits |
Application building |
|
10+ credits |
To prompt efficiently, be specific in your requests, break large changes into smaller steps, and use Elle's response to shape the next prompt. The prompting best practices article covers this in depth.
Manage AI credits in your account
Billing administrators can review Aha! Builder credit usage from User menu -> Settings -> Account -> Billing. From the AI credits section, you can see how many credits are:
Included in each billing cycle
Used so far. Unused included credits do not roll over to the next billing cycle
Available for use
Billing administrators can also purchase additional credits on the Team and Scale plans, and monitor purchased credits separately:
Purchased
Used so far. Purchased credits do roll over to the next billing cycle
Available for use
Use this information to monitor how users on your account work with Elle, and adjust as your team's usage pattern becomes clear.
Purchase more credits
If your account runs out of credits before the end of the billing cycle, users will not be able to send new prompts to Elle, though they will still be able to review their chat history. Included credits will refresh at the start of the next billing cycle.
Billing administrators on the Team or Scale plans can purchase more credits at any time:
Navigate to User menu -> Settings -> Account -> Billing.
Under the AI credits section, click Purchase credits.
Purchase a pack of 250 credits. You can purchase multiple packs if needed.
Unlike included credits, purchased credits do not expire for active accounts.
