The Gong integration connects sales and customer conversations to your product discovery work. If you use Gong today to record and analyze calls across tools such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, you can use this integration to import selected Gong call recordings and transcripts directly into Aha! Discovery interviews. This keeps the full context alongside your research notes and insights. This article explains how the integration works, how to configure it, and how to bring calls into interviews for deeper analysis.

Overview
This integration focuses on importing existing Gong call recordings and transcripts into interviews in Aha! Discovery. An Aha! Discovery customizations administrator configures the integration at the workspace level: one Aha! Discovery workspace connected to one Gong workspace. This is how it works:
Gong records calls through your meeting providers, such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
You add the Gong call URL to the interview in Aha! Discovery.
After the call is complete, you click to import the call recording and transcript into Aha! Discovery.
The integration only uses the Gong call URL and transcript. It does not connect directly to the meeting tools used to host the meeting. Gong is not available as a meeting option in scheduling because it is not the tool that hosts the meeting — it simply records it.
Configure the integration
To get started, navigate to User menu -> Settings -> Workspace -> Integrations. Select Add (+) and select Gong from the Communication section. Next, walk through the setup steps. Select Save and continue after completing each step:
Start: Name the integration so your team can recognize it. For example, you might enter “Discovery – Gong calls.”

Authorize Gong:
Select Authenticate to open the Gong login page.
Sign in as a Gong Technical administrator. This grants Aha! Discovery permission to access calls from the chosen Gong workspace.

Select Gong workspace:
Select the Gong workspace that you want to connect to your Aha! Discovery workspace. Only calls from this Gong workspace are available to import.

Enable:
Select Enable to finish setup and turn on the integration.
After you enable the integration:
A Gong URL field appears on interviews in the connected Aha! Discovery workspace.
Workspace owners and contributors can paste a Gong call URL into this field and fetch the transcript, as long as they have a valid Gong call URL for a call in the selected Gong workspace.
Use the integration
After the integration is configured, workspace owners and contributors can use the integration from individual interview records.
Link a Gong call to an interview
Open an interview in your Aha! Discovery workspace.
Locate the Gong URL field on the interview.
In Gong, open the call that you want to analyze and copy its URL.
Paste the Gong call URL into the Gong URL field in Aha! Discovery.
Aha! Discovery validates the link format and stores the connection between the interview and the Gong call.
Import a Gong call to an interview
Once a Gong call is complete, navigate to the interview in Aha! Discovery and select Import call data next to the Gong URL field. Aha! Discovery requests the call recording and transcript for that call from Gong. When the request succeeds, the transcript and recording appears in the interview. The interview status automatically updates to Analyzing.
If you already imported a transcript for that meeting from a service such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams, the Gong transcript replaces the previous version. You can map call participants to their contact records in Aha Discovery to keep track of their history.
If the interview already contains notes that you entered manually, Aha! Discovery adds the Gong transcript below the existing content.
