Typing detailed prompts can slow you down, especially when you are juggling meetings, research, and planning work. Voice input lets you talk to Elle (the AI assistant) instead. You describe what you need, and Elle turns your spoken request into structured help.
Voice input helps you move quickly from idea to action. Say a product question, describe a feature, or outline a customer scenario. Elle captures your words, transcribes them, and uses that text as the prompt. You stay present in your workflow while Elle handles the heavy lifting.

Overview
Use voice input with Elle when you want to:
Ask product questions without pausing to type.
Describe a feature, idea, or goal in your own words.
Summarize a meeting or customer conversation while it is fresh in your mind.
Draft content such as release notes, status updates, or problem statements.
Voice works best for open-ended prompts. If you already know the exact phrasing or need precise formatting, you might prefer to type instead.
You can use voice input anywhere you open Elle in Aha! The microphone icon appears in the Elle panel — no matter which page you are working on. To use voice input with Elle, you need:
A supported web browser that allows microphone access
A device with a working microphone
Permission to use the microphone in your browser and operating system
If your browser blocks microphone access, you must update the permission settings before you start.
When you start recording, the microphone button changes to a Stop icon, and animated sound waves display so you know your voice is being captured.
Use voice input with Elle
Follow these steps each time you want to speak to Elle:
Open Elle.
Click the microphone icon at the bottom of the prompt field.
When your browser asks for permission to use the microphone, allow access.
Wait for the indicator that recording has started. Then, say your request to Elle in a clear, steady voice. Pause briefly between major points.
When you are finished, click the Stop icon to stop recording.
Review the transcribed text in the prompt field. Edit it if needed, then click the arrow icon to submit your prompt to Elle.
Elle responds based on the transcribed text, not the audio itself. Use the text field to refine your request before you send it.
Best practices for voice input
You will get better results from Elle when your spoken prompts are clear and focused.
Start with the goal. For example: "Create a feature description that explains … " or "Summarize this customer problem statement … "
Provide context. Mention which product area or release the work relates to.
Use plain language. Avoid internal shorthand that Elle might not recognize.
Break complex work into steps. Record one clear request, wait for Elle's response, then continue with the next step.
Read the transcript before sending. Fix names, dates, or jargon that the transcription did not capture correctly.
Privacy and control
Your audio is converted into text to form the prompt for Elle. You always control what is sent.
You can stop recording at any time by clicking the Stop icon.
You can delete or rewrite the transcribed text before you send it.
If you see sensitive details in the transcript that you do not want to share, remove them before you submit the prompt.
Troubleshooting
If the microphone icon is disabled or nothing records:
Confirm that your device has a working microphone.
Check your browser settings to confirm that microphone access is allowed.
Verify that your operating system is not blocking microphone access for the browser.
If the transcript does not match what you said:
Speak a bit more slowly and avoid overlapping sentences.
Move closer to the microphone or reduce background noise.
After recording, review and correct the text before sending it to Elle.
If problems continue, contact your internal administrator or Aha! support with details about your browser, operating system, and what you experienced.
